Funding Circle was the 1st business to allow peer-2-peer lending for companies in the UK and now operates in the Netherlands, Germany, US & UK. Funding Circle has enabled over £5 billion in loans to small businesses as at June 2018.

Funding Circle was created in 2010 by Andrew Mullinger, Samir Desai and James Meekings

The normal RoI is about 8% which is better than some Hedge Funds. The way they handle defaults is a lot better than many banks. When a lender defaults, Funding Circle will reduce the payments allowing the company to recover. Often the business is able to return nearly all of the capital.
